The correct faith and not the miseducation about the Christian faith

The miseducation of Lauryn Hill.   Remember her!  Now labeled by CNN The Tax education of Lauryn Hill having been sentenced to three months in jail recently for " tax evasion", after reportedly earning over US $600 over her illustrious lifetime. This week  on Paula  Ann's  and Alan's  early morning programme on RJR,   I heard Lady Patra speaking the English language so eloquently, and  with the kind of diction that would be the envy of many who read the news daily. I learned that she hailed from Westmoreland and once sang in church,  before she got " miseducated" and became a " female Shabba Ranks"...crawling all over the stage in pursuit of popularity. But now she has apparently stepped away from that kind of image as having achieved she is now " in control" and does what she wishes rather than what obtained in her early days..
These thoughts came to mind, and with the help of google, as I don't know the first thing about dance hall music, never having attended any of the concerts like Sting or gone to a dance, but I recall them to say this:

Tomorrow in our church,  we will celebrate the day of Pentecost. Yesterday I heard you, together with the minister and the head of the JTA,  lamenting the miseducation of our children. But the problem is even worse, as it would appear that large tracts of our population have been miseducated about the Christian faith, hence the growing number of social and economic problems we face. As were the Jews  ( miseducated) who first heard and witnessed the work of the Holy Spirit on that first day.

" When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to to speak in other tongues as the spirit enabled them...........
we hear them declaring the wonders of God in our own tongues. Amazed and perplexed, they  (the crowd of witnesses from all over the world) asked one another, " What does this mean?"
Some, however made fun of them and said, ' They have had too much wine".

Then Peter stood up with the Eleven and addressed the crowd. " Fellow Jews and all of you who live in Jerusalem, let me explain this to you; listen carefully to what I say. These men are not drunk, as you suppose.....No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:

In the last days, God says I will pour out my Spirit on all people.......

Men of Israel, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was  a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs which God did among you through him, as you yourself know. This man was handed over to you by God's set purpose and foreknowledge; and you with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross. But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him......
God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of the fact. Exalted to the right hand of God, he has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured out what you now see and hear.......

Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.
When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, " Brothers, what shall we do"
Peter replied, " Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. The promise is for you and for your children......
With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, " save yourself from this corrupt generation". Acts 2: 1-40 NIV

Comment:
1. These men were eye witnesses to the resurrection of Christ. Who then has miseducated our people and caused them to question the Word of God?
2. The promise of salvation in Christ Jesus is for all and their children...these same children whose behaviour  and performance, fueled by their miseducation, both at home and in the schools and in the public square,  like radio and television ,  about whom we are so concerned.
3.Repent and be baptized and save yourself from this corrupt generation...should be a warning similar to that of Paul Revere...remember him " the British are coming".....shouted out from all radio station in Jamaica. Then our people would no longer like  Lady Patra be miseducated, but rather be conduits through whom God will again pour out His Spirit on all flesh and rescue this country. But it has to begin with you. And wouldn't that be ( lovely) a revolution in news!
Peace and hope you will go and celebrate Pentecost, the birthday of the church, somewhere tomorrow.
